ABOVE THE PARK

Our latest project in Lincoln Park is a thoughtful, partial renovation that breathes new life into an established home while honoring what already worked. Spanning 5,600 square feet, this turnkey transformation focused on the living room, great room, theater room, den, and—most significantly—the home’s exterior spaces. The result is a residence that feels both refined and effortlessly livable, where the boundaries between inside and out dissolve entirely.

The defining ambition of this project was unlocking the full potential of the home’s exterior footprint. What were once underutilized spaces have been reimagined into a cohesive indoor-outdoor living environment—a true extension of the home’s interior character. The terrace and rooftop deck now function as fully realized rooms, complete with considered lighting, lush planted borders, and the kind of intentional detail typically reserved for interior spaces. Privacy screening, built-in seating, and layered greenery create an intimate atmosphere that supports the sweeping Chicago views. What were once underutilized spaces have been reimagined into a cohesive indoor-outdoor living environment—a true extension of the home’s interior character.

Across both the interior and exterior, carefully selected furnishings and finishes bring the vision together. Apollo Premiere digital art displays bring a dynamic, ever-evolving presence to the great room, complemented by a blend of timeless furnishings from Ligne Roset and Altalia that balance warmth with contemporary edge. Outside, a curated mix of outdoor pieces from Gloster, Dedon, and Kettal creates inviting seating environments suited to both quiet evenings and larger gatherings. The Danver outdoor kitchen—appointed with durable, refined Dekton countertops—ensures the exterior is as functional as it is beautiful. Anchoring it all is a custom pergola by Iron + Easel, an architectural statement that unifies the rooftop deck and signals that this is not an afterthought, but the heart of the home.
